NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health
|
Course overview
In the UK the NEBOSH Diploma has for many years been the flagship NEBOSH qualification and was the first vocational qualification in the UK specifically for H&S practitioners. Since its introduction in 1988 over 10,000 candidates have achieved the qualification.
The International version of the UK Diploma is a natural extension of this highly popular qualification. The International Diploma does not include any reference to specific national legal frameworks but instead takes a risk management approach based on best practice and international standards such as the International Labour Organisations code of practice and the “Guidelines on Occupational Safety and Health management systems” (ILO-OS) On successful completion of the qualification, the Diploma holder may apply for Graduate membership (Grad IOSH) of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), the world’s largest professional body for health and safety practitioners. Graduate members may apply for Chartered Status (CMIOSH) after two years. More information about
IOSH membership
The International Diploma is suitable for anyone seeking to enhance their knowledge and understanding of health and safety to diploma level and to have it recognised through an internationally accredited qualification. It is the “must have” qualification for site H&S Advisers and others who have responsibility for H&S in their organisation.
The International General Certificate or Massey Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety are essential pre-requisites for this course.
