| Dean is a Trainer/Consultant with Impac, and has an extensive background in personal safety training, mainly around dealing with issues of violence in the workplace.
This comes from sixteen years experience as a Police Officer with the NZ Police, and a further eight years conducting security training, and maintaining his own business in which he develops and delivers “situational safety training” to a variety of staff within the private and public sector, including the Police where he is still involved in Officer Safety Training.
Dean’s Police career saw him involved in all areas of frontline work, as well as personal protection duties - with key roles in APEC 1999 and CHOGM 1995, overseas peace monitoring during ethnic tensions, and delivering defensive tactics training to staff based in the Pacific region.
Dean holds a Diploma in New Zealand Policing, and National Certificates in Workplace Health and Safety, Security, and Adult Education and Training, and he is also qualified as an NZQA 4098 Assessor.
Dean is respected as a highly skilled and practical ‘hands on’ trainer who is an effective communicator with trainees at all levels, and has a reputation for getting things done.
